What is DTF printing?
DTF stands for direct-to-film. The design is printed onto a film, coated with adhesive powder, and heat pressed onto the garment. It reproduces full colour and fine detail without the screens screen printing needs, which makes small runs and complex artwork practical.
Is DTF cheaper than screen printing?
For small runs, yes — there are no screens to set up, so a handful of shirts costs far less. Screen printing overtakes it on larger runs where the setup cost spreads across more pieces. The crossover is usually somewhere around a dozen or two pieces depending on colours.
What is the minimum order for DTF transfers?
One. DTF is the right answer for single pieces, samples, small team orders, and designs with photographic detail or many colours.
What fabrics work with DTF?
Cotton, polyester, blends, and most performance fabrics — a wider range than screen printing handles comfortably. It is a good fit for athletic wear and poly blends that give screen printing trouble.
How durable are DTF transfers?
Pressed correctly they hold up through repeated washing without cracking or peeling. Wash inside out in cold water and skip the dryer on high heat. Durability comes down to press temperature, pressure, and time — which is the part a proper shop controls.
Can I order transfers and press them myself?
Yes. We print and ship gang sheets ready to press, which is common for shops and teams doing their own pressing. We include the press settings for the film we send.
